It is phone book season again. They just don't hold the same excitement that they did for Steve Martin in the Jerk. We no longer get excited! We get annoyed. Really....who ever uses them? It is such a waste of resources! When you need to get a number you either Google on your phone or computer, right? And since we have two lines coming in, we get two! There is nothing to do but take it straight to the recycle bin. For a couple of years I kept one out of guilt. No more. It is ridiculous. I am curious if anyone ever even uses these anymore. I set up a poll on the side of my blog. I think we should be given a choice whether we get one or not, not come home tripping over them, only to get one by their competitor two days later.
Here's an idea:

OH I Hate those!!! Not only are they annoying but they don't even contain all the numbers you want because everyone is either unlisted or doesn't have a land line and businesses would rather have a website. waste of money and trees. they come in my house and go straight for the recycle bin.
OH my goodness Natalie! Seriously! We get SO MAD when we see them on our driveway. And it's so often it's RIDICULOUS. We don't have a land-line or internet connection, so why are we getting them??? A couple times I've tried for 2 or 3 minutes trying to find out who I can call about canceling them and then I get lazy and don't care - they go straight to our recycle bin. WHAT A WASTE!!
I so hate getting those books also. Since Mike and I work at home we have four lines, so we get four books. We used to have five lines. You get the picture.
We didn't ask for them, I don't use them ... and like the rest of you ... I put them right in the recycle bin. They don't even make it inside my house.
Just like the do not call list, I think we should be able to be on a registry where we choose not to receive the book(s) and if the company gives us one (or two or three or four or five), they are fined. Excessively. Let's take that to our Senator!
I am with all of you! What a waste. The money it takes to make things should go to some useful! Its a joke!
