UMMMM.............SORRY ABOUT THAT KATIE!

Okay, so I am obsessed with chapstick; can't live without my Avon Moisture Therapy. I buy it in bulk and make sure I have some wherever I might need it. I usually keep a tube in the junk drawer for quick access. Last night I was heading down to watch a movie with Jim and my lips felt dry so I opened the junk drawer for my chapstick. Dang! I had taken it out to go swimming (it has SPF too ya know!) Rummaging through the drawer I found some Avon slick tint stuff that looked like chapstick and felt like it. I generously slathered it on my lips without a mirror of course. The heat makes the chapstick a little more.....shall we say "generous"......but no worries. It was clear chapstick......right?

A little while later Katie came into the basement to bring a new friend who has never met her mother....they were having a sleep over at the friend's house. Katie of course probably did not intend to introduce us....I mean how embarrassing. So when I heard them I dashed out into the lit hallway to make sure I appeared to be the nice mom. I welcomed her, etc. I then headed upstairs to go to check on the twins. I walked past a mirror and did a double take......Holy Crapola! Or was it Holy Crayola? My lips were bright fuchsia both on the lips and outside the lines. Oh my.

Now I admit to taking delight in embarrassing my daughter. It is usually unavoidable. But I felt a little more stupid about this one since it was not intentional nor "couldn't be helped"......kind of like the time she went to enter the backyard with a friend through the sliding glass door and had a look of horror on her face as she witnessed me trying to get off the trampoline.....hmmmm. I mean give me a break. Old-fat-trampolines.....the 3 don't mix well. Needless to say Katie did not stay to witness the entire event - since it is something I hadn't attempted in years it was quite awkward to say the least......she quickly turned around and took her friend back into the house, away from the horror that played out before her.

Back to last night.........so, since Katie left quickly afterwards (a lot explains that hasty exit now) I have not had a chance to talk with her. Think she noticed? Hmmmmm... Probably.

BEWARE - DANGER AWAITS!

http://www.goodlogo.com/images/parodies/carls_jr_star.gif

Jim and I are not huge Carl's Jr. fans. Our kids have rarely been there. We were leaving that parking lot today when Hannah commented...."That Carl's Jr. must be a pretty dangerous place!"

"Why is that?" I asked her. Look at that big "DO NOT ENTER" sign right there.

I agreed with her. Seth, unfortunately, began to explain that the sign was merely there to stop people from going into the drive through the wrong way. (Killjoy!. I enjoy my kids' funny sayings far too much to correct them if it is not necessary!)
